Accessibility Statement
We have welcomed guests of every age and ability on our tours since 1992, and we want this website to be just as welcoming. Here is where the site stands, honestly, and how to reach a real person if anything gets in your way.
Our standard
Tucanes Tours builds this site toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. In plain terms, that means the site should be usable without a mouse, without sound, and without perfect vision. We are not all the way there yet, and this page says so plainly rather than pretending otherwise.
What that looks like here
- Every photo on the site carries descriptive alternative text.
- The contact form uses visible labels on every field, and required fields are marked.
- Menus, FAQ accordions, and search are built from real buttons and links that can be reached and operated with a keyboard.
- Text sits on our dark navy background at high contrast, and headings follow a logical order.
- Pages reflow to phone screens without sideways scrolling, and pinch-zoom is never blocked.
- No accessibility overlay widget. Overlays tend to interfere with the assistive technology people already use, so we fix the site itself instead.
Known limitations
These are the gaps we know about and are working through:
- A skip-to-content link exists on some tour pages but not yet on every page of the site.
- Some pages, including the homepage, do not yet mark their main content region as a landmark, which makes screen reader navigation slower than it should be.
- Decorative emoji icons in the footer and on some buttons are not yet hidden from screen readers, so some readers may announce them.
- Support for the reduced motion setting is partial: some animations respect it, others do not yet.
- The site does not yet have standalone privacy or terms pages; our privacy information currently lives on the contact page.

This page covers the website. If you are wondering whether a specific tour works for someone in your group, with a wheelchair, limited mobility, low vision, or anything else, ask us. We know every trail, boat, and van in our operation and we will tell you straight what works and what to skip.
